Dubbed Wang’s Weekend Retreat, this 189 square meter (2034 square foot) apartment in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, gives its owner a home to entertain friends and family from out of town while giving them their own private space. Designed by , the apartment’s location in the city is close to a large park, a place they looked to for inspiration, resulting in a urban space with natural elements.
A muted color palette comes from the use of wood, raw metal, a handmade concrete paint, and wooden floors, all of which gives it its industrial vibe.
The living room, dining room, and kitchen are housed in one large, open space that allows for people to gather.
The dining table was custom made and raised to be bar height, which smoothly transitions into the kitchen island.
The concrete walls are handcrafted adding texture to the open space.
Behind a three panel, metal sliding door, there’s a small hallway that leads to three private bedrooms.
