The popular Fonda family of Mexican restaurants continues to expand their Melbourne empire with the latest to open, . Once again, Fonda worked with on their signature interior, which exudes a playful atmosphere full of color, pattern, and texture, all inspired by both contemporary and traditional Mexican design. And…. now I want a burrito.
An old corner building is the new restaurant’s home where some of the original features still remain. Techné worked with the wood trusses, exposed red brick walls, and concrete floors, letting them ground the space.
Building on the original details, pops of color in cool pastels are spread throughout and contrast with more vibrant hues.
Terracotta pots were used as lampshades.
Various types of seating areas were incorporated to accommodate different needs, like bar seating, small tables, and booths.
No matter where your eye looks, it lands on fun geometric details in various colors.
